Photovoltaic
-
Principle:
Photovoltaics is the direct conversion of solar energy into electrical energy using solar cells. This technology is used
for example in isolated applications, since the line length to the nearest grid connection
would exceed or none is present. The solution also provides independence from
high-maintenance fuel-generators, because the static energy generation, which means no
mechanical movement occurs.

With the continuous technical progress solar cells today are not only more efficient but also
shrink in size. This raises the possibilities of increasing use of photovoltaics.
